Biography

College: In 2009-10, as a senior, played in 28 games, making 26 starts. Averaged 23.4 minutes per game, averaging 11.9 points per game, ranking second on the team, and 2.3 rebounds per game. Totaled 53 assists and 48 steals on the year. Joined teammate Richard Jean-Baptiste in 1,000-point club on January 9, 2010. Finished three-year Brooklyn career with 1,215 career points. Finished four-year collegiate career with 1,257 career points. Helped lead team to a second straight CUNYAC title and trip to the NCAA Tournament... In 2008-09, as a junior, played in all 29 games on the season, starting in 28. Averaged 26.4 minutes per game, while averaging 14.2 points per game, good for second on the team. Contributed with 3.0 rebounds per game, to go with 63 steals and 53 assists. Shot 33.7% (60-for-178) from beyond the arc. Posted three, 30-plus point performances (30 vs. Purchase on 12/6/08, 33 vs. Medgar Evers on 1/9/09 & 31 vs. Lehman on 1/31/09). Honored as a 2008-09 CUNYAC Second Team All-Star. Helped lead team to CUNYAC title, being named to the All-Tournament Team, earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.... In 2007-08, as a sophomore, started in all 28 games played on the season. Made an immediate impact on the team in first season, averaging 31.4 minutes per game, while ranking second on the team in scoring, pouring in 16.9 points per game, to go along with 3.5 rebounds per game. Dished out 39 assists and recorded 78 steals. Helped lead team to ECAC Division III Metro Tournament. 

Prior to BC: In 2006-07, played freshman year at Division II Nyack College in Nyack, NY. Appeared in 24 games.

High School: Daniel was Petrides' first 1,000 point scorer. Finished his career with 1,309 points. Best performance was a 43-point game during his senior year against New Dorp.

Personal: Better known as DC to his teammates, he is now majoring in Business Management. Hopes to break into the Public Relations field after graduation. Enjoys singing in his spare time. Cousin Ahmad Hemmingway is also a member of the BC Men's Basketball team.

Coach Podias Says: "CUNYAC All-Star last season, DC looks like he's ready to be a senior leader and provide the spark he brings to all games on both ends of the floor. His shooting can carry the team on his back, as it did last year during the CUNYAC Championship."
