Brooklyn, NY----Scoring three goals in the second half, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team cruised to a 4-0 non-conference win over Pratt on the road on Saturday. BC impoves to 3-1-3 with their third straight victory while the Cannoneers drop to 1-3-1. Next Up: Brooklyn will look to keep their streak alive as they open conference play on Wednesday against CCNY at 4pm.
Brooklyn controlled the opening half, generating 13 shots while limiting Pratt to just two attempts. The Bulldogs broke through in the 20th minute when
Alejandro Barreto found the back of the net, with
Nathaniel Xavier Liebling providing the assist to give Brooklyn a 1-0 advantage.
The Bulldogs carried their one-goal lead into halftime despite creating several additional scoring opportunities. Brooklyn finished the opening 45 minutes with five corner kicks and consistently pressured the Pratt defense.
Brooklyn continued its offensive attack after the break and added three goals in the second half. In the 64th minute,
Hugo Sauriat doubled the Bulldogs' advantage, scoring his first goal of the afternoon. Just over two minutes later, Sauriat struck again, this time finishing off an assist from
Daniel Sokira to put Brooklyn ahead 3-0.
The Bulldogs continued to apply pressure throughout the remainder of the match.
Bryan Lozano capped the scoring in the 88th minute, converting a pass from
Connor Grethe to give Brooklyn its final 4-0 margin.
Sauriat finished the afternoon with two goals, while Barreto and Lozano each added a goal. Liebling, Sokira and Grethe each recorded an assist.
Brooklyn's offense generated 30 shots, including 13 on target, while Pratt managed just four shots and one shot on goal. The Bulldogs also held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.
In goal,
Juan Carlos Solis Cazares earned the victory after making one save across 81:35, helping Brooklyn record its second-half shutout.
Seif Mokhtar played the final 8:25 to help preserve the clean sheet.
