College: Third year member of the BC Men's Basketball team... In 2014-2015, plaed in and started 30 games; Averaged 10.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.6 apg while playing 30.9 mpg ...In 2013-2014, started in all 26 games on the year, averaging 14.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.9 apg and 1.1 spg.

Prior to BC: Played one season at nearby NYU-Poly... Named the 2012-2013 Skyline Conference Men's Basketball Rookie of the Year, averaging a team-best 17.8 ppg, to go along with 5.6 rpg, 2.6 apg and 1.9 spg.

High School: Attended Newsome High School in Lithia, Florida... In 2010-2011, First-Team all-conference and second-team all-county. Hillsborough County All-Star Team... 2010 disctrict champions and regional finalist.

Personal: Parents are Darlene and Jonathan Gist... Born in 1993... Business Management and Finance major... Transfer from NYU-Poly... Older brother Justin was a four-year member of the men's basketball team at St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn).

Coach Micallef Says: "Three year captain. Point guard, our quarterback. As a coach, you want to be able to give the ball to someone, to lead and sit back and enjoy. Jamel is that kind of special player."
